Work had been keeping me on my toes , but just then an opportunity knocked on the door, with some friends driving down to Ladakh. Last time I was in Ladakh was in 2006 and the pull was still there. A similar trip last year with the same friends ,had to be called off in the last minute. However, this year too,it seemed it would remain a distant dream for me. Call it a momentary lapse of reason and I decided the call of the mountains was far greater at that moment. So I called up my friends and flew down to Srinagar ,since they were already on their way.
