I had read this book "in praise of slow" , couple of years back.

we continuously need to keep reminding ourselves of slowing down in this crazy global work world of ours!

here is a talk on the same by carl:

I completely agree with that. It is sometimes though to slow down when one's life is dictated by globalization and western values. I feel good in the fact that I least have one day when I can put my job and most of my busy life aside.

Couldn't agree more. Unfortunately, although many realize the importance of slowing down, not too many practise it. Particularly in India, where the financial pressure, peer pressure, social pressure and insecurity act as deterrents.

ehav:.. yeah i guess i should be thankful for the 5 day work week but wouldn't it be great to have a 35hrs week like they do in France , though its under a big debate noe ..
i guess in India ,now is the time when a section of the society, who have earned/earning a reasonable amount can decide to slow down . However I think more than the pressure created/perceived around.. i think most people haven't yet realised what they are losing running after elusive pot of gold. The race is never ending.
