On the Road Again -Jack Kerouac

Last sunday(20th May) was one of those days when you just wanted to go and pickup a book that you had been looking for in awhile. One just had this premonition about getting the hard to find book ! There it was in the 2nd hand bookshop, just a single copy waiting to be read .

I got back home and started reading the 300 odd pages and just couldn't keep it down.

Its mostly an autobiographical work of Kerouac which he wrote in an inspirational 3 weeks marathon session, which was later edited a bit before publication. As you read the book it transcends you into the minds of the beat generation, influenced by Jazz, Poetry, Drugs ,women. You literally live the lives of the characters, who travel across America..hitchhiking, walking, taking buses and traveling across in search of 'IT'. You also tend to identify yourself with some of the characters and the rebel within, the one in the quest for 'IT' !!
